Processed and packaged food and beverage is one of Indonesia’s top export commodities. Export value of the said products to Canada tend to grow from year to year. In 2018, it stood at USD 33.08 million, up 29.4% from USD 25.57 million in the year before. With the said growth, ITPC Vancouver consistently promotes Indonesia’s finest products by participating food and beverage themed trade shows. One of them is Grocery & Specialty Food West.

This year, ITPC Vancouver in collaboration with Consulate General of Republic of Indonesia participated in Grocery & Specialty Food West (GSFW) 2019 held in Vancouver Convention Centre, British Columbia, April 1-2, 2019. GSFW is known as the exhibition displaying food and beverage premium products and its related products and service. The trade show organized by Canadian Federation of Independent Grocers has been successfully allowing the key players of the industry namely business owner, manufacturers, distributors to meet and connect. Every year, GSFW is attended by at least 2500 visitors.

Indonesian booth displayed best products presented by locally established vendors. My imported drinks Canada – PT. Mustika Ratu offered KOKAL palm fruit drink in two flavors, Slimming Tea, Herbal Drink beverages to elevate the beauty from inside; Indofood promoted world’s famous Indomie with its signature flavor mie goreng. In addition, other variants of instant noodles and chips made from cassava Qtella were also introduced; Betterford offered high quality coconut sugar and plush toys whose merchandise are already supplied to Vancouver’s Aquarium and Warm Body, among others.
